Getting started
How do I scan a document?
Tap Scan on the Home screen. Lekha finds the page edges for you; add more pages, pick a filter and tap Save PDF.
Where are my documents saved?
Inside Lekha (Files tab). If Auto-save is on, a copy of each finished document also goes to the folder you chose, such as Documents/Lekha, so you can find it in your Files app.
Can I open PDFs from WhatsApp or Downloads?
Yes. In any app, choose Open with → Lekha or Share → Lekha. You can also add folders in Tools → PDF reader to see all your PDFs in one list.
Forms and photos
My exam portal says the photo is too large.
Use Exam photo & signature and pick your exam, or Custom with the exact pixels and KB from the notification. Lekha keeps the file inside both the minimum and maximum size.
How do I make a photo exactly 50 KB?
Open Compress image, choose the photo and tap 50 KB (or type your own size). Lekha picks the sharpest version that fits.
How do I hide my Aadhaar number?
Use Mask Aadhaar: it covers the first 8 digits and burns the mask into the image, so it can’t be removed later.
Invoices
How do I make a GST invoice?
Open Invoice maker from Home or Tools, add your business details once, then tap New invoice, choose a customer, add items and save. Lekha works out CGST + SGST or IGST from the place of supply.
I'm not GST-registered. Can I still use it?
Yes. Leave the GSTIN empty: invoices are made without GST and titled simply “Invoice”.
How do customers pay with the UPI QR?
Add your UPI ID in business details. Every invoice then carries a QR code; customers scan it with any UPI app and the amount is filled in for them.
How do I give my accountant the month’s invoices?
In Invoices, tap Excel next to a month and choose Save to phone or Share. You get a sheet with one row per invoice, the GST split and totals.
Will I lose my invoices if I reinstall?
Not if a backup folder is set: Lekha keeps a copy in “Lekha invoices” inside your auto-save folder. After reinstalling, choose the same folder and everything comes back automatically.
Privacy and safety
Does Lekha upload my documents?
No. Lekha is built without the Internet permission, so it can’t send files anywhere. You can confirm this in Android Settings → Apps → Lekha → Permissions.
What happens if I uninstall Lekha?
Android deletes Lekha’s private storage. Keep Auto-save on, or create a backup file (Settings → Backup) before uninstalling or changing phones.
Can I lock the app?
Yes. Settings → App lock uses your fingerprint, face or phone PIN, and hides Lekha in the Recents screen while it is locked.
Troubleshooting
I can’t add the Download folder to the PDF reader.
Android does not allow apps to take the entire Download folder. Add a folder inside it, or open the PDF from your Files app with Lekha.
Something went wrong. How do I report it?
Open Settings → Report a problem. It prepares an email with a short error log (no file names or contents) that you can read before sending.
